Year One

  • Purchase additional hardware for project expansion as well as hardware upgrades for existing systems.

  • Extend invitation to all junior and intermediate teachers in elementary schools within the board, as well as to computer science teachers at the high school, for initial information and training workshop.  (Participation will be capped at 15 teachers in order to ensure the project is manageable).

  • Complete three days of initial teacher training for Grades 5 to 8.

  • Complete three days of in-class presentations to roll out the project in various classrooms in different schools throughout the board.

  • Develop and make available a minimum of 4 introductory lesson plans (one for each grade).

  • Publish via YouTube finished student projects from Year One.

Year Two

  • Complete three days of in-class support training and/or follow-up workshops to share learning and best practices.

  • Develop and make available a minimum of 8 additional lesson plans (two for each grade).

  • Publish via YouTube finished student projects from Year Two.

Long-Term Goals

The following are future goals based on the goals of this project:​​

  • Facilitate the implementation of 3D game design in all schools within the school board.

  • Explore possibility of establishing an annual board-wide competition for student created 3D games.

  • Explore interest in establishing various middle-school based eSports teams.

  • Explore creating virtual reality and augmented reality experiences in Unreal Engine.
